A Vision That Evolved into a Mission

India is home to one of the world's largest youth populations. Across its villages and towns, millions of women and young people possess talent and determination but often lack access to quality training, technical guidance, resources, and market opportunities. As a result, their potential remains underutilized despite their willingness to learn and work.

Many women aspire to become financially independent by working from home or starting small enterprises. However, they often face challenges such as limited access to skill development, difficulty in sourcing raw materials, lack of knowledge about product quality, and limited exposure to marketing opportunities.

A Vision Beyond Training

Our vision extends beyond providing vocational training. We strive to create an environment where individuals gain practical skills, develop confidence, strengthen their entrepreneurial mindset, and become capable of building sustainable livelihoods through their own efforts.

We firmly believe that when women and youth receive proper guidance, quality training, and continuous encouragement, they can transform their skills into meaningful economic opportunities.

Women’s Economic Empowerment

Women’s economic empowerment is at the heart of our mission. When women become financially independent, the positive impact extends beyond the individual—it strengthens families, improves children's education and well-being, and contributes to the overall development of society.

For this reason, women’s skill development remains one of our highest priorities. We aim to create opportunities that help women develop useful skills, build confidence, explore entrepreneurship, and move towards greater economic self-reliance.

Young people have the potential to become powerful contributors to economic and social development when they have access to the right knowledge, skills, guidance, and opportunities.

Through skill development and entrepreneurship-oriented initiatives, we seek to encourage young people to develop practical capabilities, professional confidence, and a positive approach towards employment, self-employment, and sustainable livelihoods.

Upkar Trust also believes in collaborative development. Subject to applicable policies and available opportunities, the Trust may work in coordination with educational institutions, self-help groups, industry partners, community organizations, and other legitimate stakeholders to strengthen skill development and entrepreneurship initiatives.
